 El Toro Boys Cross Country Finish 5th in State

Congratulations to our Boys Cross Country team for finishing an outstanding 5th place in the Division I State Finals on Saturday at Woodward Park in Fresno. Our boys ran the 2nd fastest time in school history on the course clocking 79:48 for 5 runners over 5000 meters (3.1 miles) just 5 seconds off of the school record of 79:42. Our boys ran to their potential with 6 of our 7 runners recording their best times on the course. Their efforts really paid off as El Toro had not even predicted to be among the 15 finishing teams.

El Toro runners were:

Jordan Senko 17th (15:36) (Earned all state 2nd team)
Kyle Carruthers 31st (15:49)
Kris Frey 56th (16:02)
Kevin Durham 60th (16;03)

Boys Cross Country Advances to State

Congratulations to our Boys Varsity Cross Country team for placing 7th overall in the Division 1 CIF Finals at Mt. SAC and earning a qualifying spot to this week's State Finals in Fresno. El Toro was seeded 10th going into the race and managed to put it all together to earn their 5th State meet trip in the last 6 years.

Congratulations to our Boys Cross Country team for qualifying for CIF for the 15th year in a row as they finished 2nd in the Sea View League Finals on November 6th at Irvine Park.

A team of Jordan Senko (14:44, 4th), Kyle Carruthers (14:56, 6th), Kris Frey (14:58, 7th), Kevin Durham (15:08, 10th) and Ryan Germann (15:30, 17th) ran the fastest team time (75:16) in school history to break the previous record of 75:30 by 14 seconds. Will Levegood
(15:57, 24th) and Tim Bergstrom (16:42, 34th) also represented our varsity squad.

Our boys are scheduled to run in Division 1, Heat 1 at 7:45 am on Saturday, November 14th at Mt. San Antonio College in the CIF Prelims.

·       Congratulations to our Boys Varsity Team for finishing in 9th place at the Woodbridge Cross Country Invitational! - Our Boys Varsity Cross Country Team for finishing 9th place out of 23 top ranked teams in the State of California in the highly competitive Sweepstakes race in the Woodbridge Cross Country Invitational last Friday evening. Our varsity team recorded the 6th fastest team time in school history running a time of 76:39 for an average of 15:19 for the top 5 runners for 3 miles. Our varsity was led by senior Jordan Senko who blazed a time of 14:36 for 3 miles. Jordan became the 2nd fastest runner in school history for a 3 mile cross country race behind school record holder Brandon Bethke's 14:22. Rounding out El Toro's top 5 runners were: Kris Frey, Kyle Carruthers, Will Levegood and Kevin Durham. Top runners in our other division were: Galt Dunn (seniors), Tim Berstrom (juniors), Matt Sutphin (sophomores) and Nick Morgan (freshmen). Great job.!
