Congrats to BG Cross Country teams for their performances at the Nike Portland XC Invite.

The team traveled to Portland, OR to compete in one of the largest XC invites in the North West with over 225 schools and 6,000+ runners. With a few of the #1 state-ranked teams from the North West (8 states represented) including several nationally ranked teams, the Chargers held their own by finishing 6th for the boys (missed the podium by 3 points) and 4th for our girls in the Danner Championship races. The boys’ team was once again led by Mitch Groff who finished in 16th place. Jonas Hartline (28th), Juan Torres (42nd), Khaled Ajaj (60th), Jason Leland (72nd), Brandon Tressler (80th) and Daniel Guzman (86th) made up our varsity squad. On the girls’ side, it was Alexis Neuville (22nd) at her familiar spot leading our Chargers. Kasey Lynd, our freshman showed she can run with the veterans by finishing in 29th. Grace Griffin (33rd), Taylor Slouka (39th), Jessica Martinez (41st), Zoey Lynd (69th) and Alicia Vondran (74th) were our varsity squad. Anthony Kennen, Branden Callender, Sarah Murray, and Alexa Mascola competed in the JV Championship races.
